Hindi Section
- Hindi Section is supporting and assisting for transacting the official work of the union in Hindi, as per the Official Language Act/ Rules and the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.
- The Policy of the Govt. with regard to the propagation and spread of the Official Language is that the use of Hindi as Official Language may be increased with motivation, encouragement and goodwill. At the same time, the Rules and Orders should be strictly complied with.
- As per Rule 5 of the Official Language Rules, 1976, the communications received in Hindi are to be replied in Hindi only by the Central Government Offices.
- Name plates/notice boards to be displayed for the information of the public by Central Government Offices and Undertakings located in non-Hindi speaking areas should be in Regional Language. Hindi and English and the languages would be in the order mentioned above and the letters of the script of all the languages should be of the same size. Name plates, signboards, letter heads etc., for internal use of the offices should be prepared both in Hindi and English.
- Puducherry is coming under “C” Region i.e., Non-Hindi speaking area. Hence, the order of display of nameplate/notice boards:
