Every July, fifty First MBBS students enter our college and department after getting through an entrance examination. The academic year generally lasts until the end of April. During their stay with us, the students have Physiology lectures every day of the week from Monday to Saturday and Physiology practicals in the afternoons from Monday through Thursday. Formative assessment tests conducted every week and notified internal assessment tests conducted periodically, help us assess the students’ progress. The year ending examinations are usually conducted in May /June of each year.
On the 28th of February 2017, under the dynamic leadership of our then Dean, Prof Dr GK Pal, the Department of Physiology organized a day-long National CME on “ The role of micro-RNAs and stem cells in cardiac regeneration in Diabetic heart disease” The Keynote speaker at this event was Dr Rajesh G. Katare, Director of cardiovascular research University of Otago, New Zealand.
