- Bedside referrals from other departments, for older adults (60 years and above), requiring geriatric assessment/care are provided at the bedside.
- The social service officer (Medical Social Worker) offers support and guidance to the older adults with history of abuse, neglect by family members, and those with shelter needs.
- The older adults with disability are also assessed and aids are provided through government schemes like Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana.
- The Senior citizen help desk operated by the NGO ‘Help Age India’ is located in Geriatric Medicine OPD. The helpdesk facilitates registration, navigation, guidance for older adults coming to JIPMER.
- Senior Yoga club is functional fortnightly (2nd and 4th Wednesday) in our OPD. The services are provided by Yoga instructor form ACYTER, JIPMER.
