  1. Undergraduate Courses

    Classes are undertaken for undergraduate students (VI & VII semesters). This includes theory classes of about 70-80 hours and practical/clinical postings for 8 weeks. The students are divided into 4 batches and they undergo the clinical and practical training in rotation during the VI and VII semesters in this speciality and their performance is assessed by the faculties by the marks obtained in the periodical/ scheduled tests.

    MBBS students go through 8-week clinical training in batches in the 6th and 7th semesters and didactic lectures throughout the year. Four notified tests and 3 clinical examinations are held to assess students prior to university exams.

  2. Postgraduate Courses

    The training programs for the postgraduates are undertaken as per the guidelines/directions of JIPMER duly following the protocol for teaching activities as per the MCI guidelines. The program for the postgraduate students includes weekly case presentation, seminars and journal clubs. Eight seats are available for a three year MS-Otolaryngology course. Selection is done by a nationwide entrance examination every year. Rounds start at 8:00 am every morning and teaching rounds happen every afternoon except on Tuesdays when it is done in the morning.
