  • Dr.Ravi Kumar Chittoria recieved BMJ’S Oscars of Medicine Award for Excellence in Medical Education

    Dr. Ravi Kumar Chittoria, Additional Professor & Head of Plastic Surgery has  won the ‘BMJs Oscars of Medicine Award for Excellence in Medical Education’ on 20th September 2014. 

    The details of the Project ‘Live Telecast of Teaching Sessions’ are as below:

    Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Govt. of India has designated JIPMER as Regional Resource Centre (RRC) for 160 Medical Colleges of South India (AP, Karnataka, Kerala, TN & Pondicherry) under National Knowledge Network (NKN) & National Medical College Network (NMCN) of Telemedicine.

    Using National Knowledge Network (NKN ) Connectivity JIPMER has been Live Telecasting Teaching Sessions / CME / Conference / Workshops / Seminars / Medical Quiz etc. to 160 Medical Colleges of South India, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Raipur & PGI Dr. RML Hospital Delhi regularly free of cost.  Also this solves the problem of acute shortage of Medical Teachers in India by allowing one Teacher to share his lecture with many students at a time. These Teaching Sessions can be viewed in Mobile, Tablets, Laptop & Desktop by simply clicking the link sent to Medical Colleges.  A telephone number is also provided to allow student to ask questions at the end of the Lecture.
